Train Driver & Guest Services Event Ambassador

CROCKER PARK

Do you enjoy being outside and working with kids? Helping customers find their way? Love being in the middle of the action during exciting community events. If so, the role of Crocker Park Express Train Conductor & Event Experience Ambassador is the seasonal position for you! This dynamic, guest-facing position places you at the heart of Crocker Park’s signature events and experiences – operating the beloved Crocker Park Express train and acting as a welcoming Event Ambassador during property events.

Key Responsibilities:

Train Operations:

• Drive the Fun: Operate and maintain the Crocker Park Express Train around the East and West Park on Crocker Park Blvd (similar to driving a riding lawn mower).

• Safety First: Conduct routine vehicle checks and promptly address any maintenance issues to ensure passenger safety and enjoyment.

• Sparkle and Shine: Tidy each train car between rides to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort.

• Be the Face of Crocker Park: Greet guests warmly, answer their questions, and provide directions and information about our activities.

Event Ambassador Support:

• Event Presence: Assist at Crocker Park events by staffing event tables, distributing promotional materials, and offering guests information about activities and attractions.

• Guest Engagement: Answer questions with a positive attitude and extensive knowledge of the property, events, and seasonal offerings.

• Gift Card Sales: Operate the Clover POS system to sell Crocker Park gift cards and track transactions accurately.

• Create an Experience: Ensure every guest interaction is welcoming and memorable by helping manage crowd flow, organizing lines, and maintaining a festive atmosphere.

• Create Joy: Make every event or train ride special, going the extra mile to ensure families have a blast.

• Capture Memories: Take photos of families and children at events, on the train, creating lasting memories.

Music in the Park Support:

• Set the Stage: Assist with the setup and coordination of our Music in the Park events (Friday-Sunday).

• Be the Go-To Person: Help performers with their setup and ensure they have everything

• they need for a great show.

• Showcase the Fun: Capture photos and videos of performances, highlighting the joy of the audience and our sponsors.

Payment Handling:

• Efficient Transactions: Collect payments using the Clover POS system, managing both cash and electronic transactions smoothly.

• Secure Handling: Keep track of all transactions and ensure the security of the payment system.

Safety and Maintenance:

• Stay Vigilant: Conduct regular safety checks and report any issues promptly to security

• Weather Watch: Stay informed about weather conditions and take proactive measures to protect guests and equipment.

Requirements:

• Friendly and Approachable: Strong customer service skills and a welcoming demeanor.

• Kid-Friendly: Enjoy working with children and families, creating a fun and engaging environment.

• Train Operator: Ability to operate the Crocker Park Express Train.

• Licensed and Checked: Valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check.

• Weekday and Weekend Availability: Train typically runs Wednesday-Saturday, 12-8 PM, and Sundays 12-6 PM. Crocker Kids events are Tuesdays from 11-2, and other property-wide events are typically on weekends. Must have some weekday and potentially weekend availability.
